The Fox Family – Behind the Scenes of a Creative Retouch

In this blog, I break down the process behind The Fox Family, a project focused on retouching, compositing, and creating a cohesive, cinematic image.

Concept & Planning

The goal was to capture a natural yet visually striking family scene. I started with sketches and moodboards to explore composition, poses, and color palettes. Planning early allowed for smoother creative decisions during production.

Retouching & Compositing

Once the photos were ready, I focused on retouching and compositing:

• Cleaning up details without losing authenticity

• Balancing light and shadows to guide the viewer’s eye

• Adding textures to unify the scene

Even though some elements were photographed separately, careful compositing made the family feel naturally together in the final image.

Final Touches

The final stage involved fine-tuning colors, contrast, and depth. These subtle adjustments bring life and clarity to the story of The Fox Family.

This project shows how attention to detail — in light, shadow, and texture — can transform an image from good to memorable.
